SPECIAL EVENT BENEFITING THE JAMES O. PAGE FOUNDATION

DINNER ON THE AIRCRAFT CARRIER USS MIDWAY

WEDNESDAY, JULY 30   |    6:30 P.M. – 10:00 P.M.

Join Pinnacle attendees and others from across the nation for a very special dinner event aboard the historic aircraft carrier USS Midway. This event will benefit the endowment for the James O. Page Collection at the Louis M. Darling Biomedical Library at UCLA.

The Collection will serve as a central gathering point and online portal for the EMS profession’s most important literary and historic touchstones. Jim Page, often called “the father of modern EMS,” died suddenly on Sept. 4, 2004. A special presentation honoring Jim’s legacy will be made by William Atkinson, president of WakeMed Health & Hospitals in Raleigh, N.C., and chair of the James O. Page Foundation.

Tickets are $85 and include dinner and admission to the Midway. Children 12 and under are $24 each. We appreciate additional donations which will go toward funding the endowment for the James O. Page Collection. For more information about the Midway, visit midway.org. For more information about the James O. Page Foundation, visit www.jamesopage.org

SPECIAL TUESDAY EVENING KEYNOTE

Steven Tomlinson, PhD

TUESDAY, JULY 291   |    5:00 P.M. – 6:30 P.M.

You decided to work in EMS because you wanted to help people, but at some point you began to wonder whether that was still possible. Regulation, financial pressure and bureaucracy conspire against initiative and doing what’s right for the patient. You want to change the profession for the better, but where do you look for ideas and encouragement?

Steven Tomlinson, PhD, a playwright and professor of entrepreneurship, studies the connection between motivation and innovation in business. He uses exercises and simulations from theater to help corporate executives and start-up managers getfresh perspective on the problems that limit their business. In preparation for Pinnacle, Steven hit the streets to run calls with EMS in his hometown of Austin, Texas, and connected with EMS thought leaders. Join us for an hour of cutting-edge ideas and inspiration.

(Immediately followed by reception in the Exhibit Area)
