Perhaps you’ve heard a colleague say “These Millennials just don’t get it,” or maybe even uttered those words yourself. While veterans may not always appreciate new generations, the truth is that they bring new energy, ideas and approaches to an organization. Most leadership roles in EMS are still filled primarily by Baby Boomers and Generation Xers, but Millennials and even members of Generation Z are rapidly taking over the workforce. In this session, you’ll hear from members of different generations themselves about what they bring to the table, how they communicate and how they can be motivated to lead a multi-generational workforce.
Thomas Moore a senior associate with Fitch & Associates and EMS Director for University Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas, will moderate this engaging panel discussion. He will be joined by Maria Beermann-Foat, PhD, a battalion chief with MED-ACT in Johnson County, Kansas, and Jon Swanson, executive director of Metropolitan Emergency Medical Services in Little Rock, Arkansas.
