The Bipartisan Budget Act of 2018 required that the U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services develop a mechanism for collecting information on the cost of providing EMS service across the country. Much discussion and planning has gone into creating an effective tool to meet the 2020 deadline, but the industry has not galvanized around one single method for this national EMS cost reporting system and distinct models have emerged. In this session you’ll hear industry leaders detail the similarities and differences of the methodologies, including the specific requirements for EMS cost data reporting, deadlines for submission and penalties for failure to submit data.
