Jack Stout brought us the idea of System Status Management in the 1970s, and high-performance EMS was born. Time has marched on, and many of the challenges of matching supply with demand still exist today. Long gone, however, are the days of flip charts and paper maps to solve these issues. Technological advancements have made the ability to efficiently manage resources in real-time easier, faster and more precise. In this session, some of the leading experts on EMS deployment and analytics will delve into the dynamics of SSM and how organizations can use its principles to better serve their communities, their patients and their employees.
Topics for discussion will include:
Guillermo Fuentes, MBA, is chief operating officer of Fitch & Associates. He previously served as the chief administrative officer for the Region of Niagara (Canada) police agency and as associate director of the regional EMS system. Todd Stout is the founder and CEO of FirstWatch Solutions and a leader in data analytics and innovation. Mike Taigman, MA, the improvement guide at FirstWatch, has been leading change in EMS systems around the globe for four decades and is a faculty member of the Institute for Healthcare Improvement. Jonathan Washko, MBA, is assistant vice president of the Center of Emergency Medical Services at Northwell Health in New York.
